Jonathan (Tune Talks) - What to do when you call yourself a musician professionally, have traveled the world with your own band, and discovered a kindred spirit with colleagues in backstage rooms? Maybe a fondness for David Bowie? You could express this shared love outside of your own band. This idea came to Nick Hodgson of the Kaiser Chiefs, Pete Denton of the Kooks, Ben Gordon of The Dead 60s, Glenn Moule of Howling Bells, and Tom Dawson. While the project initially started as a solo album by Hodgson, the idea of collaboration prevailed. Bowie fans may have already perked up at the band name: "Everyone Says Hi" is a song title from the 2002 album "Heathen".
The Eels are already on the home stretch for their new studio album "Eels Time!", set to be released on June 7th. The new single "If I'm Gonna Go Anywhere" was recorded, like the other eleven album tracks, between Los Feliz in California and Dublin. Songwriter E also welcomed guests in the studio, including Koool G Murder, The Chet, Tyson Ritter, and Sean Coleman.
Speaking of collaborations: With Matty Healy and George Daniel from The 1975 or Jack Steadman from Bombay Bicycle Club, Beabadoobee already had enough star power on board for her last album "Beatopia" to make waves. In 2024, things are definitively heating up: Star-producer Rick Rubin is producing the upcoming album "This Is How Tomorrow Moves" for the British artist born in the Philippines. However, Bea's popularity has been on the rise for quite some time: Taylor Swift enlisted her as support for her Eras Tour.
