In a charged atmosphere, Eden Golan secured her place in the ESC final on Saturday.

Last night, the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Malmö: From 16 contenders, the final ten participants were determined. The event was accompanied by protests against the Israeli contribution by Eden Golan.

An estimated 5,000 demonstrators had gathered in the city center. The Israeli singer followed the advice of her security team and did not leave her hotel, requiring considerable police protection to be escorted to the venue.

During the dress rehearsal, Golan was booed, but also greeted with applause. However, during her performance in the semi-final, only sporadic protests were heard. Regardless, she delivered her song "Hurricane" professionally, accompanied by four dancers and fog. The cheers from the Israeli camp upon the announcement of the remaining finalists were accordingly loud. In addition to Golan, our neighbors from Austria and Switzerland also qualified.

On the other hand, the higher-rated Belgian, Mustii, was eliminated, while Dons managed to qualify. The chances of the Latvian singer advancing were only 20 percent, placing him at the bottom of the rankings. However, the betting agencies got it right for all the other participants.
